My research focuses on macroalgal populations, intertidal communities, and links between biology, environmental conditions and water chemistry. I use a combination of field and laboratory methods to understand natural variability in marine populations, responses of species and communities to climate change and pollution.

Andrew Rassweiler I am a quantitative marine ecologist with research interests straddling the linked fields of natural resource management and ecosystem resilience. I combine field experiments, data analysis and mathematical modeling to address basic and applied questions in temperate and tropical reef ecosystems. Janie L. While many graduate students live and work in the area, Florida Tech also attracts students from around the world. The campus is also in the middle of one of the largest high-tech workforces in the country. The multidisciplinary marine biology program at Florida Tech prepares graduates for their career by presenting the latest body of knowledge in the industry and offering excellent research facilities for conducting state-of-the-art marine biology research.

In addition to research activities, graduate students can become members of the scientific societies that support the marine biology field. Based on their laboratory productivity, students may be able to attend scientific meetings and present their research findings. Graduate students are encouraged to submit their research findings for publication in respected industry journals such as Aquatic Toxicology, Marine Biology, Marine Biotechnology, Fish Biology , and many others.
