For the education portion of it, Deakin University was absolutely amazing. I love how it differs from the American system because they dive head first into what your major is instead of dilly dallying with general education classes.
The professors love what they do and are very welcoming of the students from overseas. The program through the school even offered other trips so you could experience more adventures such as The Great Ocean Road. Now for the fun stuff! I now have a passion for travel, and not just the tourist type of travel. The kind where you get to sit down and talk with the people who live there, really be immersed in their culture.
It was the greatest experience of my life! So many people asked me if I'd do it again and I said I would, in a heartbeat! I would recommend any broadreach trip to anyone! It was the best month of my life and I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on the experience that I had. I have a new perception of the world that is much more open and involves a new way of thinking unmatched by anything I could have gotten from a textbook in the United States. Going abroad for me helped become the focal bridge in linking what I am passionate about in life to my career aspirations.
Studying abroad with CAPA pushed me to face challenges I could never have faced had I not been in a foreign country abroad.
