Disk Utility will not erase the other seperate partitions that Windows creates so u must use the Terminal commands above to fix this.
It is showing inside bios in boot devices, but not in disc utility inside the osx installer. It also appears inside ubuntu where i succeeded to format it fat but no luck with disk utility. As you wrote, i added a SATA drive, restarted. Even though High Sierra now supports these different sector sizes I would still only buy 4k sector size capable drives. Does the 2nd ssd the sata one have to be formatted already in order for the nvme ssd to show up? Or can the 2nd ssd also be uninitiated? So I created a usb with a bootable version of linux and it could see it.
I formatted the drive with Gparted ext4. Thence the macOS installer saw it and I was away. Notify of new replies to this comment. Sort by: newest oldest. Same issue, we are working on it. Clove just shows USB drive. Forgot your password? Or sign in with one of these services. By miliuco , October 12, in OSx86 It happens to someone else?
How can I solve that? Thank you. Hi - This is the Patch in my config. I have it the same. It seems that in Big Sur it does not work although in Catalina it works well. I see that in your system it works fine. I will review it again. I have Sata hot plug enabled in Bios. In this project was said that PM is not recommended to hackintosh, but it is like a Evo, I think, so are there huge differences in compatibility between them?
Personally I use evo with apfs and trim without issue. All right. Thank you both for the support. With normal use I can do just over 2 hours.. Menchen I already have my evo GB , but I feel it has an poor performance compared with Windows. I can do a benchmark if you want. ZambraDesigner , In fact Evo isn't very battery efficient compared with others, but it has, supposedly, better performance. SSD's: comment Better battery consumption: Despite not being technologically advanced as Evo GB, like said here , it has a better performance on MacOS also with 4k blocks activated.
With the latest EFI 1. Some info I searched: here , here. I thought it was normal because I have been recording my screen some hours a day. Today my hackintosh was pretty hot and at the end of the evening it wrote GB on ssd!
I only had Firefox on background and pdf viewer, with Wi-Fi turned off, antivirus off. But I am always getting errors on Console app:. MarFre22 : thank you for your observations and suggestions. I have a Dell Inspiron laptop and use Big Sur And time required to boot from OpenCore to login screen is doubled!
May I ask you to find all occurrences for "spaceman" in you macOS boot log and post them here, please? MarFre22 : you can type the following command in terminal and put output: log show --last 3d --style syslog grep "spaceman".
I uploaded spaceman statistic for a real iMac 27": spaceman. It looks like many non-apple nvme devices have issues with APFS trimming it is slow. Is it normal? MarFre22 , it is not normal, if you have APFS volumes these "spaceman" entries must be in log after reboot. Probably you rebooted more than 3 days ago, you can remove "--last 3d" and get all entries. Or just reboot and run this command again, please. It's because I have windows, macOS, and other ntfs partition on the same drive? MarFre22 , I also have windows and hfs partition on the same drive.
What do you think about it? Unfortunately, non Apple SSDs are so slow.
